Weddings on Lovrijenac Fortress, Dubrovnik

Outside the city walls of the fortress complex Lovrijenac rises to 37 m high cliff, and can be reached from the sea shores, "the Pile", climbing up a wooded path.

Dubrovnik built a fortress to protect the western sea approaches to cities, particularly of the Venetian fleet. Start of construction is recorded 1018th year, although it lasted until 16 century.

On the seaward side walls attain a thickness of 4 and 12 meters at the entrance to the fort is a Latin inscription: NON BENE PRO TOTO LIBERTAS VENDITUR AURO (Liberty is not sold for all the treasures of the world). The fort is the chapel. Lovro, and an inner courtyard with a cistern is a wonderful space for theatrical performances and great wedding events.

Today is the Dubrovnik Summer Festival here includes a large number of plays, and Fort Lawrence became known worldwide as an excellent stage and the equivalent Danish castle Elsinor to perform Shakespeare's "Hamlet. " The fort is open to visitors.
